Once again Sherwood Forest comes alive with historical re-enaction and living history. Travel back in time along the Sherwood time trail to meet Copper Age man, Ancient Romans and Britons, Normans and Knights plus a Medieval Household. The soldiers and camp followers of the English Civil War, Highway Men and music makers of the C18th, Soldiers from World War One and Two plus the 1980’s. All set against the magical backdrop of the ancient forest. Organised by Event Plan and photographed by Red Zebra. 1st and 2nd of October 2011.

Photographs from Sherwood through the Ages 2011 set in the

splendour of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire. A time trail set around the forest including the Major Oak, historical re-enaction and living history at its best. Start with Copper Age man in the depths of the forest, progress to the Roman camp and then into the realms of Norman and Medieval life. The muskets and pikes of the English Civil War encampment, the danger of the highway men and travel into the World Wars of the twentieth century and the British Army of the 1980’s
